Peace and Love

Sometimes, you don’t know what you are searching for. You don’t know whether it is love, forgiveness, honesty, peace, love, independence, time. You have so many questions but you don’t have one single answer. You feel so many things, but you cannot express those feelings. You are thinking so many things but you cannot actually do anything. It is when things are the lowest, when things are most dark that you will find light.
But then you receive something unexpectedly, and you realize that you were searching for this thing, and you get a sense of being complete, you become one with yourself.
In a moment you understand everything, that one moment answers all your questions, it clears all your doubts, it soothes all your pain and hurt, and it brings you to a point of satisfaction, of peace in your heart.
You sometimes feel there is chaos all around you, in the traffic, on the streets, in office, everywhere. And you search for peace there. But you will find peace in the midst of all the noise, and still be calm in your heart.

What is peace? Peace is being in harmony with yourself, to have no grudges against anyone, to have no vengeance towards anyone, to love yourself, to trust yourself, and to have the sense of knowledge that you haven’t done anything wrong. This is peace for me. And here when I say wrong, doesn’t mean ethically wrong, it just means that as per how wish to live your life, you have taken the right decisions and you have never regretted those decisions.

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. This is a verse from the Bible. John 14:27.

During this Christmas season, Christ came in the world to bring peace, joy, hope and love. And the greatest of these is love. During the last 4 Sundays at Church, each Sunday was a reflection on each virtue, and each virtue is complete only with love. Yesterday the sermon was on love, and how true that the priest said, that human love is so imperfect in many ways, we should seek perfect love in God. God’s love is unconditional, with no boundaries.

As Christmas is approaching, I was just wondering, now as its Jesus’s Birthday, everywhere there is an environment of joy, of parties, of giving and taking of gifts, but in all this we have all forgotten that it is Jesus’s birthday. What is my gift to Jesus this Christmas? We all throw parties, and make merry, but do we invite Jesus in this party? Are we happy because he came into this world, or do we get another holiday and forget him?
This Christmas think what we can do for God? What will God expect us to give him? It surely isn’t any material thing, it isn’t anything to do with the world.

Look deep inside your heart and see what God expects you to give Him. What will make Jesus happy? We all know Jesus wants us to be happy and peaceful, so he would want us to give him what we don’t want, it might be our imperfect heart, might be all the pain and hurt buried deep down in our heart, it can be hate and resentment that we haven’t forgotten. This Christmas give your life, your whole self, your heart, to Him, the way it is, imperfect, so that he can perfect it in His love.

  3. Wow..... this is insightful. i dont think i can ever look at Christmas again as lights, carols and fun only. Especially loved your concept of our imperfect lives and perfecting it with Gods love...
