Ring in the New!!!!!!!

As today is the last day of the year 2010, my heart is filled with gratitude for the year gone by. No one’s life in the last year has been 100% perfect, but yes it is 100% complete. We all have in our own possible ways been able to give our very best to make our life and the people we love dearly lives better.

We all have gone through happy and sad moments, satisfying and disappointing moments, exciting and boring moments. And when u look back you will remember that it was upto you to be how you wanted to be. It’s all a state of mind.

As we start the New Year, let’s all be hopeful about it. I remembered these lines I had read long back and it comes back to me as we start a new year tomorrow…Let us all remind ourselves that:

Life is short, break the rules,
Forgive quickly, kiss slowly, love truly, laugh uncontrollably,
And never regret anything that made you smile.
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did.
So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.
~ Mark Twain ~

Let’s live our lives the way we always wanted to, lets live it freely. Let’s listen to our hearts and know what God is saying to us.
Let’s thank God for everything… for the family and friends who have always been with us, for making our life beautiful, who have always put up with us inspite of our moods, for our colleagues who have made life beautiful in their own way, for the various people we interact, who bring a smile on our face, for the children we meet, who teach us so many things, for people who become family instantly.
Let us thank God for the laughter we have shared, the sorrows we have cried about, the regrets we have had, the excitement we have felt, the hope we have experienced, the presence of God we have felt, the wind we have felt on a sunny day, the sun we have experienced on a gloomy day, the beautiful life that has been gifted to us.

We may have may resolutions this year, we might have planned many tasks this year, but remember to enjoy those moments, remember to cherish them and thank God for them, remember to live those moments with joy and peace.

The moment that has gone by will never come back…. So LIVE it…

Thy Will be Done

I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, "Move from here to there" and it will move.
Matthew 17:20

Well, this verse has always been the most inspirational verse for me, knowing well that I strongly believe in the Alchemist theory. I believe that if you have faith, everything is possible. But this has brought me to realize certain more truths about the Bible. I have always believed in the concept of God’s will too. The “Our Father” that we pray also says, “Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” This thought bought me to the first miracle that Jesus performed. The conversion of water into wine. This is the extract from the Bible:

1 On the third day a wedding took place at Cana in Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there, 2and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding. 3 When the wine was gone, Jesus’ mother said to him, “They have no more wine.”
4 “Mother, why do you involve me?” Jesus replied. “My hour has not yet come.”
5 His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.”
And then Jesus performed his first miracle. The authorization that his mother gave, let him perform the first miracle. This authorization that God gives us, governs our lives.

Then I wonder, what is God’s will in my life? And I get the answer. I know God’s plan for me, because he is working his plan in my life, right now, every moment of my life is his Will.

We sometimes might have tremendous faith in something, in some people, but we are more than once disappointed. We then know it in our hearts, that it was God’s Will, it has always been God’s will. And God’s Will works through us. Through our hearts. So always listen to your heart. It will reveal to you the Will, it will unfold to you God’s plan. It will lead you to happiness, which u thought never existed.

Also, sometimes in living God’s plan, we might come across different phases in our life. Happy one’s and sad one’s and you might also wonder how can this bad phase be the Will of God? How could God let this happen? But when the bad phase is over, you will know the answer in your heart. I cannot reveal what you will experience, will be different for different feelings. But you will know and understand that whatever happens, happens for good :-). And just that’s the final statement. Because there is a time for everything…….

Another verse from the Bible:

There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:
2 a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
3 a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
4 a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
6 a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
7 a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
8 a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.

May we live out God’s plan in our lives by realizing it in our hearts. By listening to our hearts. We should never stop doing it. Because our heart knows things that only God can reveal it to us.

Peace and Love

Sometimes, you don’t know what you are searching for. You don’t know whether it is love, forgiveness, honesty, peace, love, independence, time. You have so many questions but you don’t have one single answer. You feel so many things, but you cannot express those feelings. You are thinking so many things but you cannot actually do anything. It is when things are the lowest, when things are most dark that you will find light.
But then you receive something unexpectedly, and you realize that you were searching for this thing, and you get a sense of being complete, you become one with yourself.
In a moment you understand everything, that one moment answers all your questions, it clears all your doubts, it soothes all your pain and hurt, and it brings you to a point of satisfaction, of peace in your heart.
You sometimes feel there is chaos all around you, in the traffic, on the streets, in office, everywhere. And you search for peace there. But you will find peace in the midst of all the noise, and still be calm in your heart.

What is peace? Peace is being in harmony with yourself, to have no grudges against anyone, to have no vengeance towards anyone, to love yourself, to trust yourself, and to have the sense of knowledge that you haven’t done anything wrong. This is peace for me. And here when I say wrong, doesn’t mean ethically wrong, it just means that as per how wish to live your life, you have taken the right decisions and you have never regretted those decisions.

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. This is a verse from the Bible. John 14:27.

During this Christmas season, Christ came in the world to bring peace, joy, hope and love. And the greatest of these is love. During the last 4 Sundays at Church, each Sunday was a reflection on each virtue, and each virtue is complete only with love. Yesterday the sermon was on love, and how true that the priest said, that human love is so imperfect in many ways, we should seek perfect love in God. God’s love is unconditional, with no boundaries.

As Christmas is approaching, I was just wondering, now as its Jesus’s Birthday, everywhere there is an environment of joy, of parties, of giving and taking of gifts, but in all this we have all forgotten that it is Jesus’s birthday. What is my gift to Jesus this Christmas? We all throw parties, and make merry, but do we invite Jesus in this party? Are we happy because he came into this world, or do we get another holiday and forget him?
This Christmas think what we can do for God? What will God expect us to give him? It surely isn’t any material thing, it isn’t anything to do with the world.

Look deep inside your heart and see what God expects you to give Him. What will make Jesus happy? We all know Jesus wants us to be happy and peaceful, so he would want us to give him what we don’t want, it might be our imperfect heart, might be all the pain and hurt buried deep down in our heart, it can be hate and resentment that we haven’t forgotten. This Christmas give your life, your whole self, your heart, to Him, the way it is, imperfect, so that he can perfect it in His love.

Band Baaja Baarat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Some things will never go out of fashion in India. Weddings and Bollywood top that list. Bring these two elements together and you have the ultimate recipe for a full on “dhamaal”. And that is exactly what Maneesh Sharma deftly delivers in Band Baaja Baraat.  Kudos…. on such a wonderful effort.
Yesterday I saw this movie, and I totally absolutely, actually loved it with all my heart. I had liked all movies I saw in the recent past, Jhootha hi sahi….Break ke Baad etc… but I guess when I saw this movie, I actually “loved” it!!!!!!!!!! Somehow, it is a perfect movie if you are looking for fun and masti !!!!
What I love about the movie is that 10 minutes into the film and you get drawn to their world: The setting, the ambience, the lingo, the accent, the overall tone and mood transport you to North India (precisely Dilli) instantly. Just Loved the Lead pair (great chemistry), the creative n courageous Shruti, the slacker yet “honhar” Bittu, the “Tarkeebein” up their sleeves, the Shaadi Mubarak idea, the story is absolutely great, the “Dilli” lingo, the colloquialism (I mean, honestly, who describes a passionate, romantic episode as “kaand” ;) with such authenticity), Bittu’s style of confessing that he loves her,…… oh my god ….I was so so happy and smiling all the way :-)
Oh I was laughing and crying (at few times only) and totally enjoying the movie :-)
Anushka Sharma has done a fantastic job as usual. It is newbie Ranveer who is the surprise package….he  actually catches you unawares in  emotional moments, which he enacts so well. Loved both of them.
Beneath all the vibrant color schemes, the Janakpuri bonhomie and Sainik Farms elegance and the “dhinchak” music,( which, by the way, is one of the greatest assets of this movie…..really, when “ainvayi ainvayi” plays, the laziest person will be on his/her feet) BBB is a quintessential love story. Bittu and Shruti meet each other, become partners, then friends and finally fall in love, all against the backdrop of various weddings. They grow apart, then realize their love, again, in weddings they plan.
It is mostly a “opposites attract” concept, which has been the most useful ingredient for most successful love stories in the world.
And even the fact that a girl and boy can never just be best friends, they can be best friends if there is nothing more than friendship in that relationship. But who defines the thin line of separation between love and friendship? This is a very thin line, and once u have crossed it there is no coming back once u have experienced this love.
All in all, it was an absolutely thrilling happy enjoyable experience. This is a movie about our dreams, small and big…and their fulfillment, our mistakes and the amends we make for it, the opportunities we miss and the ones we , thankfully, don’t because of which we finally achieve our happiness, the ups and downs, our brightest hopes and darkest fears, friendship, and most importantly love. Love, which touches your life when you least expect it, which may appear to put a “roda” in your plans and throw your life out of balance, but brings you unimaginable happiness, if only you could have the courage to let go of your inhibitions and accept it. Actually, Life is this big, grand Indian wedding….. Not everything will go according to plan, but you’ll always know how to get it right. And while you are at it, go make merry… have FUN!!!! That’s what the movie says J enjoy it!!!!

The cLiMb

I can almost see it
That dream I am dreaming
But there's a voice inside my head saying
"You'll never reach it"

Every step I'm taking
Every move I make feels
Lost with no direction
My faith is shaking

But I gotta keep trying
Gotta keep my head held high

There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be a uphill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose

Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb

The struggles I'm facing
The chances I'm taking
Sometimes might knock me down
But no, I'm not breaking

I may not know it
But these are the moments that
I'm gonna remember most, yeah
Just gotta keep going

And I, I got to be strong
Just keep pushing on

'Cause there's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be a uphill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose

Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb, yeah!

There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be an uphill battle
Somebody's gonna have to lose

Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb, yeah!

Keep on moving, keep climbing
Keep the faith, baby
It's all about, it's all about the climb
Keep the faith, keep your faith, whoa

"The Climb" is a song performed by American recording artist and actress Miley Cyrus, for the 2009 film Hannah Montana: The Movie. The song was written by Jessi Alexander and Jon Mabe.

True Love

Life is filled with highs and lows
But you have always been with me through
Your love is what strengthens me
And lets me the beautiful world see

You are always making me smile
Even when I don’t feel like
Your love is so pure
It makes me feel so secure

I know no matter what
You will always be faithful
You are always trying to make
My life more colorful

When I look in your eyes
I see the love and trust
That will only but
Grow and grow in years

Looking at you makes me believe
That love is not only giving
But also in receiving
Love is with all ur heart trusting

And sometimes when I am lonely
U will be there to hug me
You will always hold me close
To your heart and soul

When our lives are over
And we grow old together
We will happily look back and smile
For a wonderful life together

Dream a Dream

We as humans can dream, we can have goals and the wonderful part about all this is God has given us the ability to establish goals, to live out those dreams. Think of it: We can look deep within our hearts and dream of a better situation for ourselves and our families. But what makes this even more powerful is that we have also been given the ability to not only dream but to pursue those dreams and not only to pursue but achieve them.

What are your dreams and goals? This isn't what you already have or what you have done, but what you want. Have you ever really sat down and thought through your life and decided what you really want? Have you ever taken the time to truly reflect, to listen quietly to your heart, to see what dreams live within you? Your dreams are there. Everyone has them. They may live right on the surface, or they may be buried deep from years of others telling you they were foolish, but they are there.

So how do we know what our dreams are? This is an interesting process and it relates primarily to the art of listening. This is not listening to others; it is listening to yourself. If we listen to others, we hear their plans and dreams (and many will try to put their plans and dreams on us). If we listen to others, we can never be fulfilled. We will only chase elusive dreams that are not rooted deep within us. No, we must listen to our own hearts.

How do we listen to our hearts?

Take time to be quiet. This is something that we don't do enough in this busy world of ours. We are always in a hurry and find no time to listen to our heart. Our hearts are meant for times of quiet, to peer deep within. It is when we do this that our hearts are set free to soar and take flight on the wings of our own dreams! Take some quiet "dream time" this week. No other people. No cell phone. No computer. Just you, a pad, a pen, and your thoughts.

Think about what really thrills you. When you are quiet, think about those things that really get your blood moving. What would you LOVE to do, either for fun or for a living? What would you love to accomplish? What would you try if you knew you would happy at the end of it? What thoughts move your heart into a state of excitement and joy? When you answer these questions you will feel Great. It is only when we get to this point that we experience what Our dreams are!

Write down all of your dreams as you have them. Don't think of any as too outlandish or foolish – remember, you're dreaming! Let the thoughts fly and take careful record.

Now, prioritize those dreams. Which are most important? Which are most feasible? Which would you love to do the most? Put them in the order in which you will actually try to attain them. Remember, we are moving toward action, not just dreaming.

Here is the big picture: Life is too short to not pursue your dreams. Someday your life will near its end and all you will be able to do is look backwards. You can reflect with joy or regret. Those who dream, who set goals and act on them to live out their dreams are those who live lives of joy and have a sense of peace when they near the end of their lives. They have finished well, for themselves and for their families.

Remember: These are the dreams and goals that are born out of your heart and mind. These are the goals that are unique to you and come from who you were created to be and gifted to become. Your specific goals are what you want to attain because they are what will make your life joyful and complete in its true sense…….

So Dream a dream :-) :-)

P.S.: well, i wouldnt take credit for the entire write-up (its a combined effort of ppl who inspire me, what we discuss, whats been in the deep of my heart from always, and finding the same words whats in my heart and mind)...
